EIP (Educational Internship Program)

Educational Internship Program (EIP)

Educational Internship Program Theory and Practice

This college level course is intended for seniors who are considering pursuing teaching as a profession. Students will be assigned a classroom in the district in order to gain teaching experience as they assist the mentor teacher with classroom preparation, tutoring, small group learning activities, and whole group instruction. Students will also engage in pedagogical studies and instructional projects that explore classroom culture, literacy, theories of learning, and other educational issues. Strategies are aligned to local, state, and national standards for college and career readiness.

Educational Internship Program Field Experience

During the second semester of EIP, interns will assist their cooperating teachers with classroom preparation, tutoring, and instructional activities related to lesson design and assessment. Students will also explore the roles of diversity and differentiation in the contemporary classroom. Strategies are aligned to local, state, and national standards for college and career readiness.
